If you’ve been into gaming for a long time, chances are you’ll have a couple of titles that just ooze nostalgia. For me, I can’t think aboutCroc: Legend of the GobbosandThe Simpsons: Hit & Runwithout falling into a nostalgic trip down memory lane. It’s the same way a particular album may remind you of a certain time in your life, I say as I emotionally listen toSpeak Now (Taylor’s Version).
Reddit is the perfect place to reminisce about such favourites. To reflect on the joy they brought us, or discuss our hopes for these franchises in the future. The originalCrysisis the latest game mentioned on Reddit’s neverending nostalgia dive - and it’s a great shout. Userhailthecrowbarkicked the conversation off, writing, “This game came out 16 years ago,” and admittedly, it holds up way better than I expected. Those graphics were well ahead of their time.
Take a trip down memory lane and count down through some of our PlayStation 2 favourites.
Fans have plenty of praise for this title, even all these years later. UserTime-Ladder4753wrote, “For me, the more memorable thing from [the] firstCrysiswasn’t graphics, but that when you shoot trees, they break right where you shot them,” whilegknight702added, “The beginning half of [Crysis] when you fought humans was so much fun.”
