Can you believe thatAmerican Piewas released 24 years ago? That’s one way to make you feel old on a Monday morning.

In fact, many teens recentlydeemed the film “deeply problematic”after watching it for the first time. If you don’t know,American Piecentres around a group of high schoolers who make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation. Thefilmwas an immense success, spawning three sequels:American Pie 2, American Wedding, andAmerican Reunion. Now, Stifler actor Seann William Scott has reflected on the series’ success, adding to the sentiment that these films could never be made today.

The actor may not be totally correct. As of May 2023, there is talk of a possibleAmerican Pie 5with a “great” story idea floating around -according toMovieWeb. I’d imagine that such a reboot would be a fresh take on the series, reflecting the sentiment that Scott suggested.
