Now, Stifler actor Seann William Scott has reflected on the series’ success, adding to the sentiment that these films could never be made today.

He added that he didn’t “ever see there being an appetite” for “those sorts of movies again”. He added that he could be wrong but on the whole, people are “appreciating more of a witty, smart humour and good writing as opposed to just something kind of over-the-top”.
The actor may not be totally correct. As of May 2023, there is talk of a possibleAmerican Pie 5with a “great” story idea floating around -according toMovieWeb. I’d imagine that such a reboot would be a fresh take on the series, reflecting the sentiment that Scott suggested.
