However, there may be an upcoming alternative:Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
The adorable life sim featuring a cast of Sanrio characters was first released for iOS via Apple Arcade in 2023. However, now a year on, developer Sunblink and Sanrio itself have announced that the game will be coming to theNintendo SwitchandPCin early 2025.
Following that, it will also head to thePlayStation 4andPlayStation 5soon after.
Much likeAnimal Crossing: New Horizons,inHello Kitty Island Adventureplayers will be able to design their character, explore their island, collect materials, craft, fish and get to know the other residents. However, it has been said thatKitty Islandhas a lot more emphasis on exploration as opposed to busting your a** trying to make money for Tom Nook.

Since its release in 2023, it has already gone on to welcome two major updates including a mermaid-inspired update in May and the Merry Meadow update in February.
This just goes to show that, unlikeNew Horizons, Hello Kitty Island Adventureseemingly has longevity when it comes to regular updates and content.
With just a few months to go until it arrives on the Nintendo Switch, this will be the perfect cosy life sim to fill that Animal Crossing sized hole in your heart.
