Assassin’s Creed Black Flag next-gen update teaser leaves fans divided

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagis often considered to be one of the franchise’s very best entries, so it’s no real surprise that it’s seemingly been handpicked to receive the remake treatment.

It was last year that Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson first broke the news, later revealing that the game was scheduled to launch in November of this year.

However, that may no longer be the case following the delay ofAssassin’s CreedShadows- a game that was pushed from November 2024 to February 2025.

That could then affect the planned launch of the rumouredBlack Flagremake, nudging it back in 2026 … or perhaps not.

One Ubisoft developer appears to have dropped an interesting tease.

“Since I was young, I was a big Assassin’s Creed player and my favourite one isBlack Flag(ImagineBlack Flagon next-gen),” hewrote, with an accompanying wink emoji.

The tweet has since been deleted so while I’d urge you to take this tease with a pinch of salt, it does appear as if Dan has let the cat out of the bag.

It seems the patience of Assassin’s Creed fans is wearing thin.

“This means absolutely f**k all,”wroteTheAdmirationTourny.

I’m used to seeing fanbases put stock in meaningless fluff, but I actually think there might be some truth in Dan’s tweet myself.

Whatever the case, the fanbase will get their Assassin’s Creed fix next month whenShadowsfinally launches on 14 February. What a way to spend Valentine’s Day.
