The game is reportedly due for release sometime in 2024, though LinkedIn activity from one of the game’s writers suggests a gameplay reveal, or a specific release date, could announced later this year.

The artwork depicts what appears to be the game’s main character, a currently unnamed protagonist, wielding a sword with a Japanese pagoda in the background.

Fans are taking the artwork as a sign thatUbisoftis gearing up for a big reveal, possibly sometime in December when this year’s Game Awards roll around.

“Really hope we get a look at this at The Game Awards.”

“Hmmmm yall think a game awards trailer is too early?”

“Really looking forward to this game! I know reddit hates the AC games (or Ubi games in general), but I’ve always enjoyed them for what they were … my excitement for this game has doubled since I get to explore Japan in a brand new game.”

While it might be wishful thinking to get a gameplay reveal later this year, it’s not entirely out of the question, and if not we might at least get some new details on the game’s story, world and characters.
