The Assassin’s Creed franchise has always reliably delivered. Naturally, some entries are stronger than others but there’s no doubt that there’s plenty of fun to be had in each and every one.
Last year’sAssassin’s CreedMiragetook the franchise back to its stealth-based roots whilst the upcomingCodename Redwill mark a return to the RPG formula.
Taking players to the highly requested Feudal Japan,Codename Redwill reportedly centre around a female shinobi and a male samurai with the samurai possibly based on the real life figure of Yasuke.

Beyond that, we have the witch-themedCodename Hexe(due to feature the franchise’s first solo female protagonist), the China-setAssassin’s Creed Jadeon mobile, the multiplayerInvictus, and a potential remake of fan-favouriteBlack Flag.
The codenamed projectNebulais also believed to be on the way. In the works atUbisoftSofia, this instalment will also take fans to a highly-requested locale - Mesoamerica.

There’s very little in the way of official information onNebulabut as with many other Ubisoft projects, it’s been subject to leaks.

The game will reportedly take players to the Aztec empire, something many of us have longed for but that’s not all. The globetrotting adventure will supposedly also take us to India and the Mediterraneanaccording toInsider Gaming.
That’s quite the sprawl which is why one fan has theorised that these locations may be closely tied in with the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs, potentially highlighting a slight misunderstanding.
They added, “Spain didn’t even attempt to colonise India, although Portugal did, but Portugal colonised Brazil, NOT Mesoamerica and didn’t even have contact with the Incas or Aztecs whereas the Spanish did.”

Additionally, it was pointed out that the Spanish Empire did indeed have a presence in the Mediterranean so that part makes sense.
It’s a convincing theory given that it’s otherwise difficult to link both the Aztecs and India during this period.
As always though, we’ll have to take this with a pinch of salt until we see what Ubisoft officially has in store.
