Assassin’s Creed Mirage fans agree the map is just the right size

With a few days since the launch ofAssassin’s Creed Mirage, fans are coming together to share their thoughts on Ubisoft’s latest instalment to the long-running series. Despite mixed reviews, fans can agree on one thing, which is that the game features a map that is just the right size.

Assassin’s Creed Mirageis already being hailed as “a welcome return to form” and “the best game sinceSyndicate” and with the latest instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series returning to its roots, it’s clear Ubisoft wanted to pay attention to the game’s map. Set in ninth century Baghdad, in the city of Anbar, the map is already being praised for its use of space. With the most recentAssassin’s Creedgames such asValhallaandOdysseybeing set on maps of epic scale, it’s a nice return to form to see the story events taking place in a small city again.

“AC Mirage’s map size is perfect,”saidone fan on r/assassinscreed. “The map isn’t really that small. Baghdad has a lot going on, with its diverse districts offering plenty of ways to explore buildings, and the city itself is vibrant and bustling. Not to mention the outer villages and the wilderness areas.”

With the latest instalment bringing the game’s focus back to its stealth and parkour aspects, it makes sense for its setting to mainly take place in a built-up city. “I loveMirage’s map size and how dense it feels between buildings,” said another Reddit user. “I would like to see them continue this formula of AC, but refine the parkour a bit more and give us something as smooth asUnity.”
