Set to be released early autumn, the latest installment is said to be returning the franchise to its roots, back when Altair ran the show (though he won’t be included, sadly). However, one element that isn’t old school is thatMiragewill feature microtransactions.

Considering that microtransactions have been a staple of the franchise sinceAssassin’s Creed Unity, and are heavily featured in otherUbisofttitles, this “news” won’t shock many. Still, for fans who’ve been holding out hope that returning to its roots meant back to basics, the news of microtransactions is a bitter pill.
The microtransaction leak, which was first spotted onTwitterin the early hours, has since been updated, with the image removed due to copyright restrictions. However,Reddithas done its thing to ensure fans can still get all the details about this latest development.
Sadly, when we say details, we’re using the word generously. Although the tweet showed placeholder text for in-game purchases, there’s no solid information on what these microtransactions will offer players. Typically, microtransactions are cosmetic, allowing gamers to change the appearance of their avatar, skins, etc, and so it seems likelyAssassin’s Creed Miragewill give us much of the same.
Frustrations aside, what fans can be thankful for is thatMiragewill be much shorter than previous titles, likeAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Previously, gamers were clocking up to 60 hours of gameplay when doing a completionist run, which, while a lot of bang for your buck, can feel a little tedious.

After the debacle of aValhallaupdate removing several DLCsafter Ubisoft cut game support, it’s fair to say that less is definitely more when it comes to this franchise.
Regardless of how you feel about this latest news,Assassin’s Creed Miragedoes have one redeeming feature that may win back some players: photo mode. That’s right, if you’re an assassin who wants to take some incredible screenshots, you’re in luck. This mode should be available across all platforms, thus allowing us to discover a life of assassinations and photography – such a winning combo!
Upon its release on 12 October 2023,Assassin’s Creed Miragewill be available on Playstation, Xbox, and PC.
