Assassin’s Creed is not only one of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises, but it’s also one of the most popular video game properties in recent memory.
Since 2017 the series had evolved into something more comparable to the RPG genre withAssassin’s Creed Origins. This new take on the series offered a massive open world, a detailed level-up system, exploration and tight combat. However, fans had been calling for the series to return back to its 2007 roots.

Ubisoft heard those calls and for the most part, this year’sAssassin’s Creed Miragewas more of a traditional approach with a smaller map and more of an emphasis on stealth. Granted,Mirageplays a lot likeAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. After all,Miragewas intended to be an expansion toValhalla. Regardless, it was a welcomed return in direction nonetheless.

Following the launch ofAssassin’s Creed Mirage, fans have now been calling for it to have a New Game Plus for those who have finished the campaign but want to begin anew with all previously acquired upgrades. It seemed unlikely that this wish would be granted, given the fact that its predecessor,Assassin’s Creed Valhallanever had a New Game Plus, despite fans wanting to see it. Up until now, the last game in the series to get a New Game Plus was 2018’sAssassin’s Creed Odyssey.
While no release date has been announced, the New Game Plus and permadeath mode, will arrive via a free update in December.
Assassin’s Creed Mirageis out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
