The new update has introduced a bunch of system issues and incompatibilities, vulnerabilities and general bugs to Windows systems, but it’s also just straight-up made several video games borderline unplayable.
Cyberpunk 2077isapparently struggling, as is thefreshly releasedPath of Exile 2.
The recent reviews for the title are currently sitting at a “Mixed” score, with only 61% of the recent reviews coming out positive. That’s in contrast to its overall “Very Positive” review score, with 85% of players giving it a positive score.

On the plus side, it does at least seem that Ubisoft is aware of the issue.
“After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, you might encounter issues with some Ubisoft games,” a Ubisoft repstated in a post on Steam, “The games might become unresponsive while starting, loading or during active gameplay. In some cases, users might receive a black screen.”
“To safeguard your Windows update experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on devices with these games installed. These devices will not be offered to install Windows 11, version 24H2 via the Windows Update release channel… Ubisoft and Microsoft are working on a resolution and will provide more information when it is available.”
Hopefully, it’s fixed soon, especially considering that the game is currently 90% off in the Steam sale, but I do feel ever so slightly bad for Ubisoft for once.

This is definitely a Microsoft issue and not a Ubisoft one, and it seems they’re not the only publishers affected - so Microsoft better pull their finger out ASAP.
