Assassin’s Creed Origins praised for ‘saving the franchise’

Assassin’s Creed Origins reportedly ‘saved the franchise’ for some players, who weren’t happy with the direction the series has taken.

TheAssassin’s Creedfranchise is remarkable in the sense its games can take place in just about anywhere, at just about any time. However some entries in the series hit harder than others, and it’s only been recently withAssassin’s Creed Miragethat fans believe the series is finally back on form.

This is largely due to the last few games embracing RPG-style gameplay, featuring enormous open-world environments, that many believe to be way too big, and following spin-off tales rather than assassins vs templars.

Three games have currently followed this style,Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed OdysseyandAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. The latter two have been heavily criticised, with the main problem being they’resolid RPGs, but terribly Assassin’s Creed games.

Out of the three though,Assassin’s Creed Originsgets the most love, regarded asthe best in the trilogy, and some fans are saying it saved the franchise for them.

They went on to say: “I tried AC: Origins I got a while back from a bundle and it’s filling that hole I needed. Compared to the other titles, combat is night and day. It feels like there is some inspiration from Dark Souls. I also love how you use your gold to upgrade weapons. I’m having a blast on Nightmare difficulty. This is a game I never knew I wanted.”

Other fans agreed, with many sayingAssassin’s Creed Originsis one of their favourite games in the series and a good example of an RPG game done right.

“AC Origins is the best out of all the RPG-Creed games.”

“Origins was my first and most beloved AC game. Loved every second of it. Amazing game. Oh, and Bayek. F****** love that dude.”

“Origins got me back into the franchise. It doesn’t beat Black Flag or Brotherhood but it’s close to being my top AC game.”
