Assassin’s Creed publisher confirms new free downloads dropping very soon

One of the surprise hits to arrive early this year is from Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft with the delightfulPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Unlike the troubledSands of Timeremake,Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownis a Metroidvania that not only have fans ofMetroidand Castlevania been enjoying, but it’s also welcomed a new legion of fans to the genre. On theaggregate websiteMetacritic, it has garnered scores in the high 80s cementing its place as one of 2024’s best video games already.

If you’re wondering what’s next forPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown, then the game’s director, Mournir Radi has provided an excitingupdate to fanson Twitter. While no specifics were given away, free downloads were teased in the coming months. Those free updates will add new content and modes to the game.

Radi warned fans to not only train with in-game character, Artaban but also playthroughPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown’shighest difficulty setting, ‘Immortal’ mode. It’s been teased that refining your skills will come in handy, so could we be getting a new roguelike mode? Only time will tell. The first of the free updates is said to be arriving “very soon”.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownis out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. If you’ve never played this game before, we can wholeheartedly recommend checking it out, especially as it has a free playable demo on available digital platforms.
