In a report from IGN, it seems as thoughUbisoftwill be scrapping the project to focus on “bigger opportunities” such as fellow F2P shooterXDefiantand the long-runningTom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

Its statement read: “After careful consideration, we have made the tough call to halt development on Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, effective immediately.

Our priority now is to support the talented team members at our Red Storm Entertainment studio, who will be transitioning to new projects within our company, includingXDefiantandRainbow Six.”

Although it is never good news to lose a game so far into development, it is reassuring to see that Ubisoft will be taking Red Storm Entertainment under its wing for fellow projects.

However, it seems as thoughTom Clancyfans will have to head back to 2019’sThe Division 2whilst they wait for athird instalmentwhich is reportedly in the works. It is worth noting that this may be a while away though as Ubisoft only confirmed that a third entry was arriving last September.
