Finally, the release ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowsis on the horizon and fans of the stealthy Ubisoft series will be looking forward to assassinating the Templars in feudal Japan.
Previously known asAssassin’s CreedRed, set during the Sengoku period,Ubisoft officially revealedAssassin’s Creed Shadowswith an epic cinematic trailer that confirmed its two playable protagonists, Naoe, a female shinobi and Yasuke, an African samurai loosely based on a historical figure.

“Live the intertwined stories of Naoe, an adept shinobi Assassin from Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful African samurai of historical legend,” reads the description of the game fromUbisoft. “Against the backdrop of the turbulent late Sengoku period, this remarkable duo will discover their common destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.”

Ubisoft is known to offer exclusive content with certain editions and I’ve never been a fan of quests being locked behind a particular paywall, however, this pre-order bonus is at least less egregious. For those that pre-orderAssassin’s Creed Shadows, a game recentlyaccused of being “woke”, you will be gifted with the exclusive ‘Thrown to the Dogs’ quest.
Hopefully, in the coming weeks, we’ll seeAssassin’s Creed Shadowsin action with some meaty gameplay and with a bit of luck, that gameplay will arrive during Summer Game Fest next month.
