Assassin’s Creed Shadows is going to give players more control over their story than ever before.

I don’t think there’s ever been an Assassin’s Creed game more hyped up than Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and there’s a lot to be excited about.

Assassin’s Creed Shadowsis the next open-world title forUbisoft’sflagship franchise, though this time around the publisher is taking its fans to a time that’s been demanded as anAssassin’s Creedsetting for years, Feudal Japan.

During Summer Game Fest Ubisoft shed some light on how the story will follow these dual protagonists, saying while they’ll both get time to shine during the events of the game, they’re leaving it up to players as to who gets most of the spotlight.

Before certain story missions, Naoe and Yasuke will discuss how to best approach the threat or task that lies before them.

If Naoe is selected, you’ll wait for the cover of darkness and play the mission as a true assassin would, sticking to the shadows, only killing those you have to, and getting out (hopefully) undetected.
