Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update removes DLC forever

Assassin’s Creed Valhallaplayers have lost access to several DLC events and seasonal content, as Ubisoft cuts support for the game entirely.

Ubisoftwill be leaving its most popularAssassin’s Creedgame,Assassin’s Creed Valhallabehind for good, and will no longer support the game with seasonal content updates, as it’s done since the game’s launch in 2020. This is much to the dismay of fans, who enjoyed the story and character moments that accompanied each other update, which will now be lost forever.

Take a look at Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay below!

Valhalla’sseasonal content included a number of festivals and celebration events, typically corresponding to real-life Nordic culture, with events like Yule and Ostara. Each update would bring cosmetic changes to the game’s world, as well as interactive story segments and activities.

Reddit user Eglwyswrw noted the disappointing loss in a thread, saying: “Valhalla’s festivals had some interesting moments that are now forever lost/unplayable.” Each event, like the example used in Eglwyswrw’s post, expanded on the story and background of the characters, with unique dialogue for each one, as well as making the world feel more realistic and alive.

“It’s strange that they wouldn’t just let them trigger again based on the calendar.”

“Yes, I really wish the last patch gave players the ability to just trigger them whenever.”

“They brought so much life to your settlement.. I really want them to put those back in…”

Assassin’s Creed Valhallamay be getting left behind, but it had a great run while it lasted, being the most successful game in the series, generating $1 billion with its base game and DLC expansions. Next on the horizon isAssassin’s Creed Mirage, which will take the seriesback to its rootsand significantly reduce the scale of the open-world, most due to Valhalla’sstupidly big map size.

Assassin’s Creed Valhallais available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.
