However, what if I told you that the initial concept forSyndicatewent even further with the dark themes present in the final game and that you can experience that initial vision with a brand new mod?

Despite being incomplete, it significantly alters the entire vibe of the game, which was a bit more upbeat and comical with the back-and-forth banter between its main characters Evie and Jacob. In fact, one of the first things players will notice is Evie isn’t even in this version of the game, as there was originally supposed to be one protagonist.
Unfortunately, the full mod will never be released, as its creator is leaving the project behind, only releasing this version because of the amount of work already put into it. This means many changes haven’t been made to the base game, so it’s not the fullAssassin’s Creed Victoryexperience it was meant to be.
Regardless, it’s still a solid attempt at bringing Syndicate back to its serious roots. Entries in the series since have been more fantastical in their theming, with the RPG trilogy consisting ofAssassin’s Creed Origins,Assassin’s Creed OdysseyandAssassin’s Creed Valhallabeing prime examples, as all three leaned more into mythology and folklore rather than history.

The nextAssassin’s Creedgame will beAssassin’s Creed Mirage, which releases later this year forPlayStation,XboxandPCplatforms. The new game aims to bring the seriesback to its rootsof stealth/action gameplay, as well as be more story-focused than the previous open-world titles.
