Assassin’s Creed Visionaries announced, will take series to 1970s for the first time

There are practically a bajillion Assassin’s Creed projects in the works right now. Well, okay. Maybe there aren’t a bajillion, but there are rumoured to be at least 11 games in development over at Ubisoft.

The next major release on the way isAssassin’s CreedMiragewhich is set to be released on 12 October. The game is set in ninth century Baghdad and featuresValhalla’s Basim. You’ll be pleased to know that it’s a return to Assassin’s Creed stealth-based roots, andfeatures the smallest mapin years. Following on from that,Ubisoftwill release the free-to-playAssassin’s Creed Codename Jadewhich will take players back to second century BC China, whileEzio Auditore will then returninAssassin’s Creed Nexus. Insiders also recently teased thata remake ofAssassin’s Creed Black Flagmay be in the works which would be exciting. On top of all this, it’s been unveiled that a new Assassin’s Creed comic book series will take us to 1970s Brazil.

Ubisoft has teamed up with Massive Publishing and Studio Lounak to create the comic book series, ensuring that these stories tie in with the lore established in the main gaming series. We can’t wait for the first issue to drop in November.
