Assassin’s Creed: Witch Hunt looks thoroughly creepy, and fans love it

Assassin’s Creed: Witch Huntturns the franchise into a horror, and fans are eating it up.

As we’ve seen for several years now, theAssassin’s Creedfranchise can be morphed into whateverUbisoftneeds it to be to stick out from the crowd. You could choose any place on Earth, during any time period, and stick an assassin there like the orange dude on Google Maps then boom, you’ve got an Assassin’s Creed game.

The next game in the series,Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, will take players to Feudal Japan. Check out the teaser below.

Yet despite the overwhelming options, the past few games have lacked some soul which seems to be about to change withAssassin’s Creed Hexe, supposedly the spookiest adventure in the series yet.

There’s still a long wait to endure before we get there, but from what we already know, the game will focus on witch trials. Magic has been a prevalent force in the Assassin’s Creed world for a while now so there’s even a chance our characters will be wielding some cool spells, or at least technology that looks like magic to people from the time period.

Whether or not this is what Ubisoft has in mind forAssassin’s Creed Hexeis anyone’s guess. If it’s set in a place like Salem, it could conflict with the series’ emphasis on parkour.

Overall though the game should definitely lean into more supernatural elements, and make it completely different in feel and tone to the other games.
