Assassin’s Creed’s brand-new first-person game will completely change parkour

The Assassin’s Creed series is one of Ubisoft’s most popular franchises and while some might say its formula is getting a little stale, this upcoming entry looks like it’ll change all that.

Since theAssassin’s Creedseries began all the way back in 2007, it offered players the escapism of being a lethal assassin, reliving some of the most iconic moments in history or at least,Ubisoft’sversion of them.

At the heart of the series, its story tells the tale of the age-old war between the Brotherhood of Assassins and those dastardly Templars, who now run a modern-day evil corporation known as Abstergo, which uses a device called the Animus to find historic secrets that will lead to the slavery of humanity. So to say that the stakes are high would be an understatement.

In terms of gameplay, much of the series is played in a third-person perspective with brutal combat and fluid parkour. As the series has progressed, that parkour element has been growing ever more fluid and seamless. However, the upcoming Assassin’s CreedVRgame played in a first-person perspective will be taking the series parkour to the next level.

Announced in June 2023,Assassin’s Creed Nexus VRis the game that many fans have dreamt about for years. Although the announcement was made with a CGI trailer, it still gave us a decent concept of what to expect when the full game releases.

What’s more, it will not only allow us to play as series favourites such as Kassandra (AC Odyssey), and Connor (ACIII) but also the legendary Ezio Auditore in somewhat of a sequel toAssassin’s Creed II.

Yet, despite the concept ofAssassin’s Creed Nexus VRbeing promising, we still don’t know all that much about the game. Perhaps one of the concerns of fans was that it will be on-rail gameplay rather than free-flowing. Thankfully, however, that appears not to be the case.
