Baldur’s Gate 3 falls just short of taking Hogwarts Legacy’s Steam record

Baldur’s Gate 3is already promising to be a strong contender for Game of the Year, but there’s one accolade that may fall short of its grasp.

Check out the Baldur’s Gate 3 trailer below!

Yet, despite all its early accolades,Baldur’s Gate 3has failed to claimHogwarts Legacy’sconcurrent player record on theSteamplatform. That being said, I have a feeling that could change in the coming weeks/months.

According to SteamDB,at the time of writing,Baldur’s Gate 3has an all-time concurrent player record of 875, 343. That falls just short of theHogwarts Legacyrecord of 879,308. As of right now,Baldur’s Gate 3andHogwarts Legacyare ranked eighth and ninth in the ‘Most Played’ games on Steam.

Though despite the success of bothHogwarts LegacyandBaldur’s Gate 3in 2023, it’s very unlikely that both will ever come near to claim the all-time concurrent player record. As of right now, that record belongs toPUBGwith a whopping 3,257,248. In second and third place isCounter-Strike: Global OffensiveandLost Arkwith 1,818,773 and 1,325,305, respectively.

Baldur’s Gate 3is out now on PC and arrives onPlayStation 5on 6 September, which just so happens to be the same release date as Bethesda’sStarfield.Baldur’s Gate 3is coming toXboxSeries X|S at some point, butdue to the technical limitations of the Series S, the Xbox version has been delayed with no set release date.

It is expected thatBaldur’s Gate 3will arrive sometime in early 2024 for Xbox Series X|S.
