Baldur’s Gate 3 finally has real-time combat thanks to the fans

Baldur’s Gate 3has some pretty sweet combat, but if you’re not a fan of turn-based games it might not be for you, luckily there’s a solution.

I can’t lie, I’m not a fan ofBaldur’s Gate 3, even though I gave it a chance I just couldn’t get the hang of itsDungeons & Dragons-style gameplay.

If you’ve felt something similar while trying the game for yourself and have a decentPC, there’s currently a mod in development that might make a world of difference to you.

To put it simply, one player has managed to do away with the game’s turn-based combat system and make it real-time instead, which is quite the change but I think I might like it more than the base version.

Instead of patiently waiting for the enemy to make its moves before carefully selecting your own, the gameplay shifts to be a bit likeDiabloor other roguelike games.

You can hack and slash as much as you want, though the enemy can do the same so there’s still some challenge and strategy to be enjoyed.

Again it’s very rough at the time of writing, but with a bit of time it could make for an interesting playthrough to see how it changes various parts of the game.

Don’t expect the developers to take any notes of this though, as while further updates are planned for the game there’s no chance one will make such a big change to the core gameplay.
