Baldur’s Gate 3was, and continues to be, a colossal success.
The game swept up every major Game of the Year award going, including Best Gameat last week’s BAFTA Games Awards.
In fact, we had the chance to catch up with the game’s developers and cast both on the red carpet and followingBaldur’s Gate 3’s five wins.

“Our aim was to make it great as far as we could,”Neil Newbon told me, known for his starring role as Astarion. “I thought it was going to be a great game when I started playing it in early access, just to understand the mechanics. Then I got to know everybody at Larian and just thought, ‘This is going to be a phenomenal game.’”
“I don’t think any of us predicted it was going to go this well though, with this level of success. That was a real wow,” he continued.
Given the game’s success, it’s no surprise that fans are already wondering ifBaldur’s Gate 4might be in the works.
After all, no one wants to see a repeat of the 25 years we had to wait betweenBaldur’s Gate 2and3.

We know for certain that Larian Studios won’t be creating the fourth instalment, but it does certainly seem like one is planned.

Hasbro, owner of Wizards of the Coast and the Dungeons and Dragons IP, is reportedly shopping the franchise around, speaking to various studios.

Senior vice president of digital strategy and licensing for Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, Eugene Evans, did provide some insight on the process in a newinterviewwith PC Gamer.
“We’re going to take our time and find the right partner, the right approach, and the right product that could represent the future of Baldur’s Gate.”
Let’s hope they don’t take too much time. Granted,Baldur’s Gate 3has heaps of replayability to keep us busy but still, I’ll reiterate once more: don’t make us wait another 25 years.
