Batman Arkham game series will return, confirms DC boss

First released back in 2009, theBatman: Arkhamgame series is reportedly continuing after DC boss James Gunn recently hinted at a future for the franchise.

WithSuicide Squad: Kill theJustice Leagueset to launch in February 2024, many fans feared this would mark the end of games in theBatman Arkhamuniverse. This would be unsurprising considering the series came under fire this year due to theSuicide Squadtitle being hit with a nine-month delay and the news that it would require a constant internet connection.

Despite a rocky year, fans were still eager for news on the future of theArkhamuniverse and luckily, Gunn has them covered.

Speaking on Threads, Gunn reveals that there are no plans forSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueto be the last instalment in theBatmanArkhamuniverse. This is also reassuring as it shows that theDCgames will not feature around itsmoviecounterpart but rather continue on in the long-running Rocksteady franchise.

The news came after one fanwrote: “Hey James, will theSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguebe the final game for theArkhamuniverse?” To which Gunn replied: “No plans of it being the last!”

Againpostedto Threads, Gunn was asked if DC games will continue to be based on the movies after the launch ofSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.He replied: “No way! I personally can’t wait for the game and hopefully more. I’m a fan!”

Despite theBatman Arkhamseries recently having a less-than-successful launch on the Nintendo Switch, fans are still eager to see more from the series. Luckily for them, the future seems bright for the franchise.
