James Gunn’s DCU is starting to build steam after he recently wrapped shooting on his Superman film, and now he’s discussing the line-up for the upcomingCreature CommandosTV show.

More comic book shenanigans will come from Marvel next year withThunderbolts*

This confirmation camevia Instagramwhere Davis commented “faces are going to melt.”

Replying was Jame Gunn saying simply, “Hi Rupert Thorne.”

Thorne is, well, a thorn in the side of Batman and isn’t a small fry in Gotham, which has led fans to speculate that this will be the first appearance in a much bigger plan.

The casting could even lead to the confirmation of the first villainGunn’s Batman(not to be confused with Matt Reeves’ The Batman) will do battle with.

Thorne is, after all, the force that creates Two-Face, so perhaps Davis’ portrayal will jump to the big screen and bring us another Batman rogue.

Creature Commandos is based on a smaller run of titles forDCthough it takes its roots from variouscomic books, including Batman.

If we’re to believe that everything James Gunn is doing will come together to form the new DCU, then we could be seeing a lot of overlap.

For example, Clayface will also appear in the show, perhaps setting up another foe for Batman to face on the big screen, maybe inThe Brave and the Bold.

Regardless, the voice talent is strong here and Gunn has worked with Davis with Guardians of the Galaxy 3, so the chemistry is already there.

Plus, Gunn likes to work multiplay projects with the same talent, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Davis’ Thorne pop up a few times throughout the DCU.

Creature Commandoswill debut on Max in December 2024.
