
James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU will officially make its debut later this year, with production already well underway on several projects.
WhereasMarvelopts for numbered phases amidst larger sagas, theDCU will subtitle its first chapter ‘Gods and Monsters’.
The animatedCreature Commandosis set to be the chapter’s first project, debuting on streaming service Max on 5 December this year and concluding on 16 January 2025.

Following on fromPeacemaker, the series will see Amanda Waller put together a group of monsters after the Suicide Squad and Team Peacemaker put too many human lives in jeopardy.
The DCU’s first live-action project will then beSupermanwith David Corenswet in the titular role as Clark Kent.
That film is targeting a 11 July 2025 release.
The precise release slate beyond that is up in the air, but we do know thatThe Brave and the Boldis one of the film’s in development.

It’s also believed that Matt Reeves’The Batman Part IImight introduce a take on Robin, a film which exists in the DCU’s Elseworlds timeline.
Regardless of the project, DC fans have actively taken to discussing their Robin casting picks.

Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard also popped up as a possible option, as did actor Jacob Tremblay who voiced the character in the animatedHarley QuinnTV series.
Others simply suggested that anyone “young and unknown” would fit the bill.
Many questioned whether Robert Pattinson’s take on Batman is ‘old enough’ to justify having a sidekick in the form of Robin.
I have to say, I find it much harder to envision Robin fitting into that world compared to something tailor-made likeThe Brave and the Bold.
