In a surprise moment on Twitter, James Gunn has called out some misinformation on the next DCU Batman resulting in us getting a little update on what DC is looking for.
A Twitter account posted that DC was looking for “middle-aged” actors to play the Dark Knight in the DCUurging Gunn to respond.
There is some Batman on our screens at the moment withThe Penguinfrom HBO
In typical James Gunn fashion, the director and creator said only one word in response - “Bulls**t.”

He went on to confirm this again when one fan raised the legitimacy of the original rumour.
In the first post, the Twitter account referred to the DCU creators as “WB” for Warner Bros. However, it’s actuallyDCStudios that oversees the creation of new film and TV properties.
Gunn confirmed this while doubling down saying “The casting story is fiction.”
Beyond this, we still don’t know a great deal about the next Batman actor. Let’s be honest, there’s plenty of space on the other side of “middle-aged.”

We could get a much younger Dark Knight, however this is covered inThe Batmanwith Robert Pattinson, who seems to be on course for a trilogy.
One Twitter user posits, “I doubt older, that would be a real twist of fate.”
And this kind of twist isn’t out of the realms of possibility given that one of the most popularBatmanstories sees Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement at a late age to defend Gotham once again.
An older Bruce Wayne would be apt, especially if DC decides to explore other members of the Bat-family as it would set up Robin and therefore Nightwing at a later date.
