Batman has made his first appearance as the Dark Knight in the new DCU.
When it comes to iconiccomic bookcharacters, the Caped Crusader is one of the biggest names of all time. Ever since Bruce Wayne, akaBatman, made his debut in issue 27 ofDC’sDetective Comicsin 1939, the defender of Gotham City has grown in popularity with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The DCmoviefranchise is at the start of a major shift, with Zack Synder no longer leading the way. Now, we’re seeing the dawn of theDCU, with James Gunn and Peter Safran shaking things up, which begins withSupermanarriving in cinemas on 11 July 2025.

Much like theMCU, the DCU will have a shared universe with potential crossover events from movies, TV series, and comic books. Whether the DCU will share the same success as the MCU remains to be seen.
However, details onBatman: Brave and the Boldare very vague at this time with the cast and synopsis yet to be announced. That being said, that hasn’t stopped Batman from making his debut in the DCU long before those movie details were dropped.
