For some, the best that the series has to offer is 2011’sBattlefield3, which garnered scores as high as 89 on theaggregate websiteMetacritic, further validating the common conception of this classic military shooter.

From what I hear,Battlefield 2042is in a much better state today but for many, the damage is already done. Whether EA and DICE can return the series to its former glory with thenext Battlefield game, remains to be seen. Unfortunately, this mod is only available for the PC version ofBattlefield 3. For the rest of us,Battlefield 3is playable on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, it’s also backwards compatible with modern Xbox consoles and its multiplayer modes are still going strong today.
