Since development was first announced in 2019, not much information aboutBioshock 4has been revealed. Past rumours have claimed that it will be set in Antarctica and will be much larger in scale to its predecessors. In2021, the Cloud Chamber’s careers page hinted at the fourth instalment being “an open-world adventure” and will feature “character-driven stories”. There was also mention of the game featuring side-quests which will be a lot different from the Bioshock series’ usual linear gameplay.
More recently in 2022, one insiderrevealedthatBioshock 4was reportedly going through some developmental issues. So much so, that the game was currently undergoing its fourth reboot as a result of poor management.
Whether the 2028 release date is just a placeholder or will actually be when we can expect the title to launch, it still appears we have a long wait ahead of us.
