With the first game taking place in the underwater city that was once a utopia but has now fallen to ruin, we must fight to escape all whilst battling the previous residents.

It has been almost 20 years sinceBioShockwas first released and with reports thatBioShock 4is currently in development, it may be a while until we see an official remake of the 2007 title.
However, formerHalo: Infinitedeveloper Kaleb Nekumanesh has shared some footage and screenshots of aprojecthe is working on that bringsBioShockto Unreal Engine 5. Spoiler alert, it looks incredible.
To create such beautiful scenes, Nekumanesh used “megascans, custom materials/models/decals, and marketplace assets” to build real-time inUnreal Engine5.
The result is some beautiful scenes of Rapture that show perfectly the juxtaposition between the beauty of what was once a utopia to the fallen ruin it is now. We can see the lights of the ocean beyond the windows contrasted with the dark, horror-esque corridors of Rapture and it’s clear how impressive a modern-day remake would be.

When he’s not busy in Unreal Engine 5, Nekumanesh is also working on afree Halo gamewhich sees players get to experience a 15-30 minute narrative adventure with combat and puzzles.
As for BioShock, it has been quite a while since we received anything official about the sequel but we can only hope that it is going well after a rocky start.
