BioShock Unreal Engine 5 remake leaves fans stunned

It is hard to believe that we are rapidly approaching the 20-year anniversary ofBioShockbeing released as fans, such as myself, remember entering Rapture for the first time like it was just yesterday.

However, that is the case withBioShockfirst launching way back in 2007 with its sequel,BioShock 2in 2010 and finally the third instalment,BioShock Infinitein 2013.

Since then, the future of the series has become a bit of a tricky subject as, despiteBioShock 4’s development being announced back in 2019, we are yet to hear anything else about the supposed project.

As a result, fans of the first-person shooter have had to rely on multiple playthroughs and remasters, such asBioShock: The Collectionwhich was released in 2016.

However, it seems as though one fan has gone above and beyond to breathe life back into the original game courtesy of anUnreal Engine5 reimagining.

Taking the assets fromBioShock,Youtuber noodlespagoodle released a fan-made trailer that not only shows us what the game could look like almost 20-years on but also gives us a completely reimagined side story with new characters, lore, and locations.

The3-minute trailershows us Rapture and although it looks a lot more modernised graphic-wise, it still has all the hallmarks of one of the most iconic locations in gaming.

From the ocean beyond the windows to the manic splicers and familiar radio sounds, it feels like going home despite noodlespagoodle creating a brand-new story.

“I… I’m speechless,” one userwrote.

“It’s beautiful, and everything I hope for inBioShock 4. Everything is so smooth and realistic, like I could reach in and touch the walls and see every scratch and bullet ding in them.”

Anothersaid: “This is all I want. F**k an open-worldBioShock 4.”

Although just a fan project, this gives us a glimpse into whatBioShock 4could be… if it is ever released that is.
