The Last of Uswas far from the world’s first narrative-driven zombie game, and it certainly won’t be the last. Even so, one new game that’s landed on Nintendo Switch seems a little bittoosimilar to Naughty Dog’s iconic title to be brushed off as pure coincidence.
Take a look at this incredible mod which addsPedro PascalintoThe Last of Us Part Ibelow.
I appreciate that might sound a little bit harsh, but the game’ssynopsisreveals that your “ultimate goal” centres around “saving the girl” - the same one who, in the game’s cover art, bears astrikingresemblance toThe Last of Us Part I’sEllie. Seriously, just look at the two - they both have the exact same hairstyle and even the same outfit, give or take a few details.

“As you navigate the treacherous city streets, you’ll encounter diverse locations that hold the key to your survival,” the synopsis reads. “Journey to the library to safe [sic] an innocent girl from reckless zombies, head on to the pharmacy to secure vital medical supplies, explore the police station to arm yourself with powerful weaponry, and venture into the dark depths of the metro tunnels, where unexpected horrors await. Each location presents its own set of challenges pushing you closer to your ultimate goal: escaping the city on a ship to a safer haven and saving the girl, as each life matters when all you have left is the The Last Hope.”
While the plot admittedly sounds a bit different, the similarities are hard to ignore. The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survivalis currently 88% off on Nintendo Switch and costs just 99p, but I think I’ll just stick to Naughty Dog’s games.
