Bloodbornefans have been beggingSonyto remaster or remake or re-anything the game for years now and it seems their cries might have finally been heard, asBloodbornejust received a stealth upgrade out of nowhere.
Unfortunately however, folks aren’t too impressed with what’s on offer, as the “upgrade” in question doesn’t actually change anything thatBloodborneweren’t already happy with in the first place.
Sony’s latest PS5, thePlayStation 5 Pro, doesn’t actually come out until November 7th 2024, but some lucky people have managed to get ahold of the console early.

As a result, unannounced details regarding the PS5 Pro have started to find their way online - including its new “Image Quality Enhancement” feature.
Image Quality Enhancement essentially just makes PS4 games that run on the PS5 Pro look a little prettier, although exactly how this is achieved is currently unconfirmed.
It’s assumed that it’s simply upscaling, most likely super sampling, but as of now, there’s no way to know for sure.
Naturally, everyone immediately wanted to know how this affectedBloodborne’sperformance and the answer is… it doesn’t.

Everyone on the r/PS5 subreddit experienced a swift feeling of whiplash upon hearing of the feature.
“performance is the real problem…”commented user weissmulleron a Reddit post detailing the changes.
“Exactly”replied SAAARGE, “Bloodborne is already a beautiful, stylized game…that is stuck running at 30 fps. I’m glad to get whatever improvements I can, but the 60 fps target is what we want.”

Given the reaction, this is probably why Sony didn’t announce the Image Quality feature in the first place - as whilst it is cool to have, news of its existence has led a lot of people to feel disappointed.
