
In late February,Borderlands4was announced in one of theweirdest wayspossible, with Gearbox’s founder speaking of it being the “greatest thing” the developers have ever done. It was a bold and unusual way to reveal that a game was in the works and, as such, fans were tentatively hopeful.

Now that Gearbox can “ascend” to its next level, the Borderlands fandom waits with bated breath to learn solid details about what the next Borderlands adventure compromises of. Before that happens, though, all focus will be on the upcomingBorderlandsfilm, due to be released 9 August. Whether it lives up to the fandom’s expectations, that remains to be seen; so far, the jury is split over how loyal to the franchise it will be.
Bickering will likely occur, however, at least gamers can rest easy knowing that another game-based exertion of the action-romping, mayhem-catching franchise will happen. It’s official. What its final form will take, though, is still enigmatic.
