Bully quietly acknowledged as GTA 6 hype reaches fever pitch

Bully, orCanis Canem Editas it was known in Europe, is one of those games that just keeps managing to find its way into the headlines, regardless ofRockstar Games’ refusal to develop a sequel.

Usually, this is because of something relatively baseless. Fans of the 2006 title are probably more than sick of hearing about all of the “rumours” surroundingBullyat this point, which is understandable considering literally nothing has come of any of them in the past 18 years.

Today though… I dunno, man. I don’t want to fill you poor folks with any more misplacedBully-related copium, but I might actually have some good, genuine news for you.

Shout out toEd Smith over at PCGamesNfor originally covering this story!

As to why, the prevailing theory is that it (of course) might have something to do withGrand Theft Auto.

The GTA+ subscription service primarily gives you access to a bunch of exclusive perks inGrand Theft Auto 5, but it does also come with one extra, major benefit.

If you have an active GTA+ subscription, you also gain access to a bunch of other Rockstar titles at no extra cost, such asRed Dead Redemption,L.A. Noire, andBully.

The thing is, the subscription service isn’t actually available on PC. Even if you pay for it on a PlayStation console, for example, you wouldn’t be able to claim these titles on Steam.

However, there’s been a lot of talk lately about GTA+ finally coming to PC, which is why people thinkBully’supdate on Steam may be related (as the PC port of the game is apparently in a bit of a rough state).

Makes sense. If you want people to pay for your subscription service, you better make sure the free games they get from it actually work.

This could also be part of the reason that Rockstar Gamesfinally decided to fixGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Editionin a recent patch. Maybe it even had something to do with them finally portingRed Dead Redemptionto PC.

Of course, we won’t actually find out what Rockstar is up to until thisBullyupdate actually goes live.

It could be some bug fixes. It could be some graphical upgrades. Either way, it’s gotta be something, so keep an eye out for anyBully-related headlines in the near future.
