It should come as no surprise that the video game industry is already talking about Call of Duty in 2025, after all, Activision has treated us to a near-yearly release since the birth of the series in 2003 on PC.

This year, we already know thatCall of Duty:Modern WarfareIIIis this year’s release, the third entry to the MW reboot series that began in 2019. Much like its two rebooted predecessors,Modern Warfare IIIwill be modernising its story and so too will its multiplayer offering.

According to a Call of Duty insider named El Bobberto, it is claimed that whatever the official name of 2025’s entry will be, it will feature remastered maps from the popular game from 2012.

Obviously, these are unconfirmed rumours, so we should take them with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. At launch,Black Ops IIincluded these 14 maps: Aftermath, Cargo, Carrier, Drone, Express, Hijacked, Meltdown, Overflow, Plaza, Raid, Slums, Standoff, Turbine and Yemen.

At this time there’s no indication whether Call of Duty 2025 will feature the maps included in theBlack OpsII expansion. We suppose a good indication of whether that will happen or not, is ifModern Warfare IIIadds the maps fromMW2(2009) at a later date.
