
Over a decade on from its original release, Call of Duty fans say thatModern Warfare 3needs a remake.
Funnily enough, there’s been a lot of talk aboutCall of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIthis week, but don’t get it twisted - this isn’t the remake that everyone’s been begging for. Instead, it’s the third game in the rebooted Modern Warfare series which began withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare(2019). Someone atActivisionreally ought to do something more to set those game titles apart beyond changing all their numbers to Roman numerals.

Afternumerous rumours, thealleged ‘first-look’ forModern Warfare IIIleaked online this week, but Activision quickly issued a DMCA notice to eradicate any semblance of it from the internet. However, the DMCA takedown itself literally referred to the game asCall of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Note the Roman numerals, my friends - it seems that Activision may have accidentally confirmed the game’s existence.

As exciting as that is, though, it’sModern Warfare 3that fans are really anchoring after. Over on Change.org, a petition has been launched to “remasterCoD MW3forPS5andXbox Series X”, and at the time of writing, it’s managed to accumulate over 4000 signatures.
