It should come as no surprise that this year will bring yet another Call of Duty entry, after all, since its inception in 2003 we’ve had a new game in the series almost every year.
Even when we weren’t allegedly supposed to get a new game, one still arrives. In 2023, it was reported that instead of a full release,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II(2022) was to get aModern Warfare IIIexpansionwhich instead launched as its own standalone game.
Check out our interview with the Modern Warfare III devs below!
In ourreview ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare III(campaign), I said: “Call of Duty deserved much better than this churned-out disappointment. If you’re desperate for a bit of CoD this year, then you’ve probably already picked this game up. Otherwise, give this game a miss or at least hold out for patches to fix some issues.”

Of course, we should take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if we were to get sequels toCall of Duty: GhostsandCall of Duty: Advanced Warfareone day.
As for the immediate future,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIis out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
