In recent years,Activisionhas provided Call of Duty fans the opportunity to play the latest single player campaign early, andModern Warfare IIIis no exception, as long as you’re able to cough up the cash to purchase the more priceyVault Edition. Unfortunately, that was not initially possible, even for those who acquired theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare III Vault Edition.

So what exactly is the issue? Well, reports are making the rounds that when trying to play theModern WarfareIIIcampaign it’s asking to “insert a disc” forModern Warfare IIon the digital version of the game. For reference, to access theMWIIIcontent, you have to boot up theMWIIgame to access it from the dedicated hub. One of our team members at GAMINGbible experienced a very similar issue.

It was figured out that additionalMWIIfiles related to the campaign were required to be downloaded in order to play theMWIIIcampaign. Twitter account Call of Duty Updates also reports that an update is required to access the content.

I also encountered something odd when accessingCall of Duty: Modern Warfare II/IIIon the early access launch day. When I logged in, my multiplayer progress was at zero, which was a little concerning. After several minutes of panic, I realised that the issue was with me having both my PlayStation and Xbox profiles linked to my Call of Duty account. This is odd because you’re supposed to be able to link multiple accounts for crossplay purposes.

When it comes to Call of Duty, PlayStation is my main and seeing as I’m yet to playMWII/IIIon my Xbox, I unlinked that profile. Thankfully when my Xbox profile was unliked, after I restarted the game all my PlayStation multiplayer progress returned. So if this happens to you, it might be worth keeping that in mind.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIreleases in its full form on 10 November on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
