It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for. Ever sinceCall of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIwas announced, fans have been convinced that Zombies will also be making a comeback - and it looks as if we finally have our confirmation.
There’s plenty going on in the world ofCall of Duty. WhileModern Warfare IIImay have begun life as aMWIIexpansion, we now know that it’ll be its own standalone release. Despite Microsoft’s ongoing acquisition ofActivision, PlayStation userswill actually gain early accessto the game. I know, that one’s a head scratcher. Sony confirmed that early access will open to PlayStation users ahead of other console platforms. The single-player campaign is set to takeplayers back to Verdanskand the game is rumoured to featureevery map from the originalModern Warfare 2, released back in 2009. Today though, we have an update on the long-awaited return of Zombies.

It turns out, if you text the word ‘Zombies’ to the official Call of Duty phone number (available in the US), you’ll be sent a link to a secret sound file. The file plays the sounds of, you guessed it, Zombies - seemingly confirming the return of the mode. Take a listen below.
I expect that in time, Activision will release a more normal teaser. Gamescom’s Opening Night Live is less than a week away - and Geoff Keighley did tease that we’ll be getting mainly updates on games that have already been announced.Modern Warfare IIIticks that box. Stay tuned Zombies fans.
