A few days ago,the Twitter account @ModernWarzonerevealed that a gun that is also a bong will be added toCall of Duty: Black Ops 6.

And look, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it; this is stupid. But it’s par for the course for Call of Duty these days, especially considering all the weed paraphernalia you can use to decorate your in-game banners.
However, fans aren’t upset because it’s silly. Fans are upset because they think it’s hypocritical.

However, over on the r/PS5 subreddit in athread detailing the news, folks from different corners of the internet have very dissimilar takes on the situation.
“So, some players feel that the presence of a bong gun in CoD means that they should be allowed to abuse other players?” replieduser KesMonkey.
“There is a clear gap between bong gun and yelling [a curse] word at a bunch of 12-year-olds in game chat,” agreeduser BugOk5425.
Personally I’m inclined to agree with the Reddit side of things here, as the inclusion of a bong doesn’t suddenly negate being offensive to people online.

Curious to see if the backlash does result in Activision shelving the bong entirely. That would be preferable considering it’s an abomination.
