Captain Marvel series quietly killed off by Marvel

Marvel has killed off a Captain Marvel series before it even had a chance to get rolling since it launched last year.

Carol Danvers akaCaptain Marvelis one of the longest-running superheroes in the Marvelcomic bookuniverse making her debut inMarvel Super-Heroes#12 in December 1967. Arguably the character became more popular than ever when she appeared in the MCU and played a pivotal role in the downfall of the “Mad Titan” Thanos inAvengers: Endgame.

“What a wild ride! I’ve had so much fun writing Carol, Yuna, and some true cosmic weirdness,” saidAlyssa Wong following the cancellation of the series. “From place-swapping shenanigans to body horror, high-stakes heists to quiet, powerful moments, it’s been an absolute blast(aar). And you’ve been with us every step of the way!”

She continued: “Thank you for your love and enthusiasm. Every time I read your letters, they make my day. You are all True Believers..but more than that, thank you for believing in this story, this team, and all of us. I can’t wait to see where Carol’s journey takes her next!”

Obviously, this won’t be the end of the Captain Marvel character whatsoever, because she’s a huge member of the Marvel franchise. So we can expect to see her return in other comic book tales as well as the MCU.
