Crazy Taxi, originally released in arcades and for the SEGA Dreamcast, is known for being a brilliant racing game (Can you call it a racing game?) that created a template that many have copied since.
Fans have gathered over on Redditto both sing the game’s praises and beg for a revisit to the franchise.Crazy Taxiis a great ‘pick up and play’ game that had a lot of people obsessed with the band The Offspring, well, lots of early late 90s and early 2000s bands in fact. The easy to play, hard to master game has been ported to many different systems, but we definitely need a new entry in the series.
And another franchise that needs reviving from SEGA:
As soon as I sawthis Reddit post, it brought back floods of memories. I owned the Dreamcast version of the game from day one and my friends and I would play the stand-up arcade cabinet every weekend. Bringing backCrazy Taxiwould be the dream, and plenty of Redditors feel the same way. “I fire this up at least once a year,“saysu/JocoLabs. Sadly, SEGA hasn’t revisited the game in full but the gameplay of collecting a customer and speeding them to their destination has popped up a few times. One Reddit user said, “SEGA only makes Yakuza and middling Sonic games now,” but to be fair, the gameplay has been used in Yakuza. Fans ofThe Simpsons Road Ragewill be familiar with the game as well.
