WithCyberpunk 2077’slatest 2.0 update now live, fans are diving in to see what changes have been made to overhaul the base game.
With promises of new skill trees, redesigned cyberware, new perks, revamped AI (specifically Night City police), new vehicles and vehicular combat, an increased level cap and ‘endless dynamic events’, CD Projekt Red reallypulled out all the stopsfor Update 2.0. This is of course in preparation forCyberpunk 2077’sfirst and only expansion,Phantom Libertywhich drops on 26 September.
Update 2.0 launched on 21 September and with fans pretty deep into the new content, a few have noticed some nods toCyberpunk: Edgerunners,an animated Netflix series based on the game. Released in 2022 and recently celebrating its one-year anniversary,Edgerunnersquickly became the favourite show of many thanks to its nod to the universe and its heartbreaking story.

The tribute shows a hologram with the description reading “You didn’t take me to the moon, but you were there with me”. This refers to Lucy’s dream to head to the moon with David which unfortunately never happened after his death. The show ends with her visiting it alone and wishing they were there together. Heartbreaking, right?
It’s no surprise thatCD Projekt Redhad plans to include nods toEdgerunnersin its latest update. Not only are the two set in the same future but many fans who had never playedCyberpunk 2077were brought over after watching the anime. That being said, you can expect a few more nods to the show when exploring Night City such as new skills being named afterEdgerunnerscharacters such as David, Lucy and Rebecca.
