Cyberpunk 2077 announcement leaves fans divided

CD Projekt REDhas just announced that a much-requestedCyberpunk 2077feature isn’t in the works, and fans are mostly just confused.

In response to one commenter asking if there were plans for one in the future, they simply replied“We currently have no plans for PS5 Pro patch.”

Over on the r/Games subreddit in a thread detailing the announcement, players discussed the potential reasons behind the lack of a patch.

“Starting to wonder what the point of the PS5 Pro is when most of the stories have been games that either won’t be patched or don’t work properly on the new hardware” replieduser iWriteYourMusic.

“This isn’t surprising considering they didn’t even bother to add NG+ to Cyberpunk and they still haven’t fixed the annoying texture glitches on the PS5 version of TW3,” commenteduser ZaDu25, “CDPR got their bag, they’re on to the next one.”

To be honest, I’m not surprised at the news. CD Projekt RED are beyond busy right now.

They’re assisting in the development of Fool’s Theory’s upcomingThe Witcher Remake. They’re working on Project Hadar, their first original IP. Project Polars, the codename forThe Witcher 4, is also in development. Plus, both Project Sirius (anotherThe Witchertitle) and Project Orion (aCyberpunk 2077sequel) are also assumedly getting some attention.

Besides, they actually are hard at work on someCyberpunk 2077updates. The developerannounced last monththat the title will be getting Mac port in the near future.

Regardless, this all might be a blessing in disguise. A lot of the most recent PlayStation 5 Pro “upgrades”have some severe issues, especially the ones from third-party developers.

Although they have “no plans” for one at this current point in time, I wouldn’t be surprised if CD Projekt RED do eventually release an update for the system. Just don’t expect one any time this year.
