Before that, the base game forCyberpunk 2077is getting an upgrade, introducing several new and improved features that fans have beenbegging for since launch. That being said,CD Projekt Redhas a warning for all those planning on hopping back into the game once the update drops.
Speaking via its official Twitter, the developersaid: “Hey, chooms! While you’ll be able to continue the game with your current character on an existing save, we recommend starting a new game afterCyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.0. Due to the number of changes, starting fresh will enhance your overall gameplay experience!”
While you don’tneedto start a new save file, the update makes several changes to the gameplay and skill tree found in the game, so starting over from scratch will give you a much better chance of experiencing all the new content.

ThePhantom Libertyexpansion also doesn’t require you to beat the game in order for it to be accessible, just that you progressed past a certain act, so you could use any save file provided you’ve made it past Act Two’s ‘I Walk The Line’ Quest.
Cyberpunk 20772.0 launches on 21 September, with thePhantom Libertyexpansion launching on 26 September.
