A live-actionCyberpunk 2077project is on the way.
In fact, it was announced back in 2023 but over one year on, we’re yet to hear much else about it.
You may have noticed that I said ‘project’ asCD Projekt REDhasn’t exactly confirmed whether it’s a film or TV series.

All that’s been confirmed is that the project is being made in partnership with Anonymous Content, the production company behindTrue Detective, 13 Reasons Why, andThe Revenant.
Just last month, CDPR joint CEO Michal NowakowskitoldVGC that the project is “further in than we were a year ago,” but explained that it’s still early days: “We’re also not yet at the stage where we would be shopping around the concept to potential streamers or studios.”
With that in mind, the project certainly isn’t ready to start contemplating something like casting, especially if the scripts still aren’t pinned down.
We don’t even know if the project will be a like-for-like adaptation ofCyberpunk 2077, or whether it’ll simply be a new story set within this world.

If it is the former though, fans have already taken to discussing who should play V.
Cyberpunk 2077has come a long way in the last few years.
Reddit user schulzy175 kicked off the conversation,saying, “If they ever make aCyberpunk 2077live action movie, Robbie Amell NEEDS the role of V.”

I’m guessing the user might be going off of Robbie’s work inCode 8which, I have to say, is pretty good.
“I mean they should just get Gavin Drea the guy who voices Male V and is part of the looks for Male V in the marketing trailers, plus he does more on screen acting than voice acting too so I think it would be perfect,”counteredMcDinkster.
Aaron Paul, Garrett Hedlund, and Timothee Chalamet were also posed as possible choices.

Weirdly, much of the conversation centred around a male V and not the female version.
