To say that the launch ofCyberpunk 2077in 2020 was a major disappointment, would be an understatement. In fact, it was deemed so bad that Sony decided topull it from sale via its PS Store. However, a long time has passed andCyberpunk 2077is in a much better state now. Well, at least on PC and new-gen consoles.

Following the success of thePhantom Libertyexpansion, fans agreed that the initial launch ofCyberpunk 2077should have been delayedor at the very least, skipped PS4 and Xbox One entirely, especially when you consider that the expansion isn’t available on last-gen systems. What’s more, it’s also recently been reported thatCD Projekt had spent in excess of $120 millionsavingCyberpunk 2077. Yikes!

In our review ofCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, our reviewer Ewan said: “I really can’t say enough good things aboutCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. It fills me with joy to be able to report that this is a deeply ambitious expansion that fires on all cylinders and never delivers anything less than a stellar experience. CD Projekt RED is walking away fromCyberpunk 2077in the best possible way, delivering on the game’s immense potential and dropping one final, unforgettable adventure.”

Now, before I proceed, theReddit threadthat is the source of this article will befull of spoilers. So if you’re yet to playPhantom Libertyor even finishCyberpunk 2077the main game, then please be wary.

“This ending broke my heart, I currently can’t even look at ****. The fact that you spend all this time fighting to survive not just for yourself but because you wanted a future with *** and *** turns around and does that, exclaimed blankjdoe.

“I feel V’s story just doesn’t really have a happy ending as much as a price for whatever you choose. Even with the sadness I like the new ending,” said exploitedpixels. “All of the endings outside of the star ending(and even that a little) leave me feeling a hollow sort of depressed. And that’s intended. So I can’t be disappointed that CDPR didn’t put in a happy ending,” explained telepathicness.
