
Prior to its launch,Cyberpunk 2077was one of the most highly anticipated games in years. After all, this sci-fi RPG is from CD Projekt Red, the same studio that brought us the critically acclaimedThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

During its launch,Cyberpunk 2077was plagued with bugs, performance issues and a lack of promised content. In fact, the sci-fi RPG was considered to have launched in such a poor state, thatSony removed it from the PSN Store.

Cyberpunk 2077would laterreturn to the PSN Store in 2021, but after several patches, it was still far from an ideal state on PS4 and Xbox One. Thankfully, the new-gen update arrived onPS5 and Xbox Series X|S in February 2022, and the game was much closer to the one we had been promised during an E3 presentation years prior.
Now thatCyberpunk 2077was in a much better place, CDPRannounced its massive expansionPhantom Liberty, which will include a new area of Night City, along with new missions, and abilities for V as well as Idris Elba playing astarring role as the brooding Solomon Reed.
However, during Gamescom ONL this August, we were not only treated to a new gameplay trailer forCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, butCDPRalso announced that the game willbenefit from a massive free update, regardless of whether you purchase the expansion or not.
Dubbed ‘Update 2.0’, it will improve enemy AI during combat, implement a new Relic skill tree and finally improve the AI of the NCPD resulting in the cops of Night City responding to “player actions in more realistic and engaging ways, including setting up roadblocks, attempting to ram players off the road" and more.

What’s more, “Driving around Night City will also see upgrades with the introduction of vehicle combat, which allows the player to shoot while driving and quickhack enemy vehicles from cars and motorbikes,” a press release detailed.

Furthermore, PlayStation Game Size also revealed that the download size forPhantom Liberty(at least on PS5) willrequire around 36GBof hard drive space.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertywill be released on 27 September for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
